Vampire Poll Responses, Page 11

Share |  | Vote for Us |

Back in the days when Sanguinarius: The Vampire Support Page was located on AOL, I was able to run a short questionnaire from a modified guestbook script hosted by AOL. Once I moved the site off of AOL's servers, I no longer had the ability to run the response form off their script. I've not found anything suitable since then to use, so I'm not running the poll any longer or accepting new resonses; this may change someday if I find a suitable script to use.

The poll ran from 3 January, 1998 until 31 December, 2000. I have archived the responses the poll recieved in this section, and guests are still able view them.

Response: Well do to the fact that I am a REAL vampyr, I would like to say that we are no different from other people, we look and act the same. The sun doesn't burn us to death but we more appreciate the nocturnal times of the day, which would be night, of course. And we only drink blood (in extremely small amounts) from the opposite sex and usually someone close that we care about. And never more then one person at a time.

Response: I think vampires are a group of people that have been around the world and through out time as watchers. They act only to survive as any other normal being would act. They sometimes help people and sometimes set them back. Their not all good, but they are not all bad. They're just a group of people that live outside and inside the human race.

Response: Belief in something you have not seen is for the ignorant. Faith is a silly thing... I'm expected to believe that vampires exist solely on the opinions (or the so-called facts) of people who obviously have some kind of infatuation with them. I've yet to meet a vampire but if they are real (which I doubt) then I suppose they would most likely be somewhere in between the "folk-lore" vamp & the modern ideas of vampirism. Of course, all this stuff about viral vamps and psychic vamps is merely a production of the times... a way of tieing fact into fiction. Would they be evil? *grins* Aren't we all a little evil?

Response: Personally? I'm not entirely sure, but that whole psy-blood thing gets me thinking. I consider myself to have quite a bit of knowledge in the "energy manipulation" or "magick" (whatever you want to call it, however you want to spell it) field, and I know all about that whole draining bit. It would be good if we could talk online sometime, share knowledge. By the way, that whole Shadowlkr paragraph [Ed: In the article "The Beginning to the Present Time", by Sanguinarius, in the Articles Archive] was some of the funniest shit I've ever read.

Response: Hmmm... Vampires are like just like anyone else, but most likely seem fatigued very often, are sensitive to light, may experience sun poisoning, aren't "morning" people, and tend to "wake up" around 4-5 pm -- at the end of the common work day. They are probably always thirsty -- for water, milk, juice, tea -- anything, and are always parched. Many may not realize their blood/energy lust, and are probably searching for an answer to better overall well-being and health. They most likely ingest vitamins and supplements to increase their energy levels and immunity. They might often wonder what's "wrong" with them -- why are they tired and irritable all the time? Why are they restless insomniacs who are most alert at "bedtime"? Why are they often depressed? When and how are they going to feel better? They may subscribe to self-help doctrines or are spiritually searching for that something "missing".

Response: I can't exactly place all vampires into one single stereotypical category (besides the subcategory of extremely sexual beings...*grin*). I find it's hard to separate the fictitious vampires of books, movies, etc., from the True Ones. I myself believe there are many different levels. It's difficult to say whether or not these levels deal with good and evil, light and dark...or intentional and unintentional, conscious and unconscious...or mortal and immortal, the living and the dead (actually the undead)... or the bloodsuckers and the psyvamps. There's such a fine line between them all...and in many cases I think these traits and their opposites are both housed in vampires. Sometimes one trait is more predominant than the other, but which trait shines through is often chosen by the vampire. I live in New Orleans, and here it's hard to discern between truth and falsehood. Many people get so caught up in the whole deep, dark, mysterious side of it that they forget vampires are Real. But I guess in actuality there really is no TRUTH (so to say) about the community of vampires. We will make our own truths...we will be driven by our own hungers...we will be called by our own voices. However, I do not proclaim to be all-knowing about matters of the vampiric nature, I just know I've felt the hunger. I'm still learning. I'm still being called...to what exactly I do not know. So if my opinion (or my ignorance) has offended any, I hope you accept my apologies. ____________________Oh yeah by the way.... My answer to the question, "What do I think vampires are like?"..... They're GREAT in bed!

Response: From what I've learned, people who suffer from vampirism aren't any different from anyone else who has a disease. My eyes have really been opened by your site and I thank you for it. I knew nothing of vampires before, except what I've seen in the movies and stories I've heard. I know I'm not a vampire but I do have a fascination for them. I would like to learn more so I'll just keep browsing around. Thanx again.

Response: My friends! They have differing personalities, beautiful features, eyes that hide too much... ...they normally are well mannered and non-violent, but watch out, when they do get angry, they are uncontrolably violent and deadly. Over all, they are like you and me, except they drink blood, and are stronger and don't "die" as easy!

Eerie America TV Series

Eerie America could very well be called The Fodor’s Travel Guidebook for The Addams Family. I read some in-depth information about the show and saw the promo, and from what I can tell, this will be an absolutely AWESOME series if they can get it off the ground. (I'm actually praying they will.) Let others know and see who can help. This is something that should happen! Let's pull together and make it so!

New Orleans Vampire Association
