While I've been a vampire for a little while myself, I have not been able to tell anyone except two of my very close friends. High school is an extremely hard place to be open about who you are because of gossip and all of the people in it. I don't worry about what people think about me, but it does kind of itch when you hear what people are saying about your group of friends.

Parents don't make life any easier; my mother would never understand where I'm coming from and what has happened to me. She would yell at me or send me off or tell me off if I ever mentioned the words "I" and "vampire" in the same sentence. being from a small town doesn't help much, either, because people look down on you if you're not religious.

Since I live in a small town, word gets out fast if anything is going on in anyone's life. In addition, since my mum has been raised strict, that's how she raises me -- strict, very. I can't get out at night when I need to, so I'm stuck in the house at my peak hours. It is so hard to sleep at night.

I know there must be other teen vamps with these problems so my advice is just to hang in there and wait till you're in college and you'll be free!! It will be so nice to get away from my small town. Remember -- hang in there no matter how hard it may seem and no matter how much you hate your life. Just remember -- think about how much your freedom will mean once you get out!!
