Vampire Poll
Responses, Page 9
|
Back in the days when Sanguinarius: The Vampire Support Page was
located on AOL, I was able to run a short questionnaire from a modified
guestbook script hosted by AOL. Once I moved the site off of AOL's servers,
I no longer had the ability to run the response form off their script.
I've not found anything suitable since then to use, so I'm not running
the poll any longer or accepting new resonses; this may change someday
if I find a suitable script to use.
The poll ran from 3 January, 1998 until 31 December, 2000. I have archived
the responses the poll recieved in this section, and guests are still
able view them.

Response: Vampires look just like you and me and everyone else
in this world, just as average/freaky/plain... They just drink blood/energy/whatever.
We're people you don't really get a chance to know since we move so often,
or keep a very tight case on our personal lives. We're actually just all
one step from insanity, but then again, who isn't?

Response: As far as I know, I've never met a real vampire. But
from the little I've seen, I'd say as human as most people, except for
a couple common traits. I don't believe that they have bizarre cult-like
origins, represent an evil supernatural presence, or hide in the shadows
trying to subvert social order. To me, vampires seem to be a sub-culture
like any other, with their own beliefs and traditions to distinguish them.

Response: Vampires are people that are different from the human
population. We have a need and a lust for blood, but we have to eat food
too, duh. There are different kinds of vamps, just like there are different
kinds of humans. Loud noises, bright lights, and lots of stimulation are
too much for us. Also, personally, I have no problem with vampyre wannabes.
I can understand why they'd want to be like us, but I wouldn't make someone
this way because you can't REALLY know what you are getting into until
it's too late. Aside from the fact that the sun burns the sh*t out of
my eyes, I don't really mind the other little annoyances that comes with
the territory.

Response: OK, this site seems pretty kewl, with That DNA thingy,
but have you ever checked out the Real vampires homepage? It Talks about
Vampires and non humans. vampires have vampire souls, they feed off of
Pranic Energy (blood) which gives them magickal power that they can use
to heal and stuff; it says they will be needed in the future to heal and
stuff. so i'm kinda confused, vampires are mutated or vampires have vampire
souls....maybe it's both. I personally think vampires are a couple steps
ahead of humans in evolution.

with a need for life energy from sources beyond the vessel of their own
bodies. The reasons and causes are debatable

Response: Well most peoples when thinking vampyres, think immortal,
beautiful, powerful, creature. Or evil red eyed monster with one nails
and teeth. OH PLEASE! If we were only immortal and all-powerful... Nope,
we are NOT immortal. Though at times we wish we do!!! There are several
different types of vampires out there: A psychic vampyre is a vampyre
who draws energy off of other living beings. They can feed from many different
life forces not just humans.. They connect with the life force and feed,
however many Psy-Vamps also return a energy. They don't only take and
steal the energy. Among Kindred, they can do a spirit meld, joining both
of their energies together, totally feeding each other on a completely
different level... Psy-vampyres attach their energy force with another
energy force and feed similiar to drawing blood... I have a friend who
has started an article about this. Blood-Needers, those who get their
energy from blood, this is not the best of vampires in their own opinion
at times. Cause usually they gotta find a willing donor to get blood from...
And in my opinion, sharing blood is kinda a special thing between two
people... I will find more about the blood-needers in the future... Next
on the list is your RPers (roll players) they think vampires are immortal
and kinda follow the myth and legends of vampires, which methinks is quite
funny... I pity these so-called vampyres... And there's "gothic-vampyres"
who desperately try to make being a "vampyre" a "fad". It's like, we can't
help what we ARE, let alone help you with what you're NOT.

Response: Well I can't speak for all Vampires since the dark gift
is different for each of us. I can only tell you that my own experience
of being a vampire is one of isolation and loneliness. It's a quest for
every vampire to figure out the meaning of his/her own dark gift. I do
offer this though....I believe we are very beautiful creatures, and we
have a capacity for love unlike any other beings under God.

Response: Personally, I think that vampires are people just like
everyone else and that they can also grow old and die just like everyone
else. I don't think that need blood to feed on but it is a "rich" type
food to them. I believe that vampires love esp. to feed off of life forces.
Last, I think that everything shown on TV is all fake, that they came
up with over the years.

Response: Same as everybody else except the thirst of blood and
not liking the sun as everyone else and that's why more active at night.
And we are not afraid of the cross and garlic or something...I think we
are more a biological problem, a disease, than religious problem. People
thought we are evil just because we are weird and they can't accept it.
Just like how they used to burn the people who said the earth is NOT the
centre of the universe and moving around the sun. I'm even a Roman Catholic!
