Vampire Poll
Responses, Page 6
|
Back in the days when Sanguinarius: The Vampire Support Page was
located on AOL, I was able to run a short questionnaire from a modified
guestbook script hosted by AOL. Once I moved the site off of AOL's servers,
I no longer had the ability to run the response form off their script.
I've not found anything suitable since then to use, so I'm not running
the poll any longer or accepting new resonses; this may change someday
if I find a suitable script to use.
The poll ran from 3 January, 1998 until 31 December, 2000. I have archived
the responses the poll recieved in this section, and guests are still
able view them.

Response: I'm afraid to say after living as a mortal vampiress
for nearly 15 years, I know what it's like. No one understands what you're
going through. Family, unless vampires themselves, believe you're crazy.
People at school are even worse. Of course, there are people who believe
me, it's just that their Buffy-wannabes or drive me crazy about turning
them! It's half impossible to stay out of the sun all the time, and sunglasses
only help so much. The hunger is the worst part. I'd be all set if murder
wasn't illegal. Not to mention if anyone gets me REALLY angry, I gotta
worry about my fangs showing up. If anyone reads this and has any ideas,
I'd be happy to hear them.

vampires as moody, photosensitive and unstable people, among other things.

Web Page: erm, the non-existent web page
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Response: Individuals with a biochemical need for blood or, in the
case of the psychic vampires, a more advanced mental faculty. Of course,
there's always the romanticized version of the vampire. But, I can't honestly
convince myself that the Anne Ricean vampires would truly exist.

Response: I think vampyres are just like humans. The good, the
bad, the ugly. They are not good or evil by nature. They make their own
choices and like humans there are those who chose the wrong way. The public
sees examples of this every day on the news but they never see the other
side. But those few vampyres, like those on the news, are the reasons
people must be protected and educated. Don't you agree?

Response: It's widely noted that it is psychologically damaging
for a human mind to suppress thoughts, feelings and emotions that would
otherwise be expressed. It seems only sensible then that after the extreme
hatred, oppression and alienation (both from our environment and from
our more basic and animalistic feelings), it seems only logical that eventually,
we as a race would begin to show anomalies, even backslides into more
primitive feeling. For example -- we as a society thrive on plastic pre-packaged
crap. What does a vampire long for? Blood, simple, raw, blood. What is
important to a Vampire? A basic tribe unit, a group of fellow "sufferers".
What is the most common connection between Vampires who haven't claimed
to be thousands of years old? They have been highly emotional, primal
in instict, and have experienced a boom in abilities considered occult
or magickal. What are Vampires? They are a huge racial reaction to what
so-called "culture" has done to us. Vampires are a natural force. At least,
that's what I think. This leaves the people who claimed to die when they
were turned and have lived for 7000 years slightly out in the cold.

Response: vampyres are born and not made. You are either born one
or you are not and nobody can be turned into one, no matter how much wishful
thinking goes into it. It is not a desirable condition and if half the
wannabes knew this they would not wish to become one. We cannot fly, turn
into animals and are not immortal (more's the pity!)

Response: I think Vampirism in real terms is a state of mind... I
do not believe that vampires in the real world are immortal nor do I believe
in the superstitions involved.. I do believe they choose their paths due
to their love of the way of life...

Response: I think vampires are as diverse as any other species now
walking the earth. You don't have to fit into a stereotype to be a vampire.
It's all about what you believe yourself to be. You can be a vampire and
look the way you want, act the way you want, even hang out with who you want.
It does help to hang out with others of our kind or at least people who believe
in us. ^^\/^^

Response: Well, I'm new to all of this, so I will have to honestly
say that I have no opinion at this time. I'm still trying to figure out
the difference (if that many) between "Gothic" & "Vampire"...It gets
a bit confusing & I'd like some help on that subject before I put
forth an opinion...
