Vampire Poll
Responses, Page 4
|
Back in the days when Sanguinarius: The Vampire Support Page was
located on AOL, I was able to run a short questionnaire from a modified
guestbook script hosted by AOL. Once I moved the site off of AOL's servers,
I no longer had the ability to run the response form off their script.
I've not found anything suitable since then to use, so I'm not running
the poll any longer or accepting new resonses; this may change someday
if I find a suitable script to use.
The poll ran from 3 January, 1998 until 31 December, 2000. I have archived
the responses the poll recieved in this section, and guests are still
able view them.

Response: I think vampires are like normal people except for some
differences, such as increased sensitivity to things, drinking blood, taking
energy, etc.

Response: normal people, that do abnormal things, such as drink
blood, or have mystical powers (everyone has their own sense of mystical
power, ye just have to take the time to find it). The person can also
have extreme or minor sensitivity to the sun, fire, or daytime. The rest
that i believe is difficult to put into words

Response: There are many levels of Vampirism; all depending on
one's station in life. You have your psychic Vamps, who are at the bottom
of the totem pole; you have fetish vamps, who drink blood purely for psychological
reasons; you have the Lost Children, who have been transformed by the
"Serpent's Seed" virus, usually through blood transfusion, or an irresponsible,
"Houseless" Vampire (all "viral vamps" are "Sanguinarian", to coin a phrase);
you have these types of Vampires who have also resurrected from death
because of the revitalizing effects of the virus (such as myself), and
you have the Elder Vampires who have achieved various degrees of mastery
of the flesh/material reality. Almost all Vampires can appear either "Clark
Kent-ish", or infernally horrific or Majestic, depending on the viewer
and the circumstances. Although there seems to be a division of thought
between the Psi-Vamp and Sanguinarian camps, I acknowledge both "extremes"
as being different sides of the same coin. I know that if one concentrates
on astral vampirism from the perspective of quantum mechanics, one can
eventually learn to literally "suck blood" through quantum transferrence
("beam me up, Scotty!"), providing that one has sufficiently attained
the Vampiric Condition. I personally will not pass the Vampiric Graal
to anyone who has not already attained some mastery of the basic principles
of Vampirism through the "Astral" disciplines, as well as a willingness
to achieve some Aristocratic notoriety and affluence for themselves. I
have tried many times in the past, to pass the Graal to unworthy "gutter
vamps"; all to no avail. too many Vamps are unwilling to make the personal
effort to work towards a truly "Vampiric Condition", and would rather
hide behind pretentious claims of invincibility and immortality. Just
because one has been infected by the Crystalline Snake, or has resurrected
from an experience with brain-death does not make that person an invincible,
all-knowing "immortal". I am hoping that the Vampiric Community in general
will make more concerted efforts in the future to authenticate their Vampiric
experience through "real-world" accomplishments, and by attempting to
create more structure and organization within the Community, making it
a more rewarding experience for all. "Can't we all just get along?"

Response: Vampires present the existence of those who have been transmuted
according to Alchemy. Vampiric Alchemy involves the shifting of the body
through magickal disciplines, astral hunting and Blood Feeding, and the sharing
of information on various sorts of vampirism.

Response: If all one needs to be a vampire, is a higher sensitivity
and some mental powers, then I could easily say I am one. The idea of
drinking blood does not frighten or make me sick either. So is that it?
Am I a vampire? Wouldn't it be just a little bit too easy if things were
like that? Now call me old-fashioned if you wish, but I believe in the
beauty of true vampirism. You probably wouldn't recognize a vampire in
a crowd, but if you met one while walking along those narrow streets,
you would understand. There is something in them. Maybe it is the charisma
of their personalities, maybe it is the memories of the many things they've
seen and felt during their long lives, maybe it is something else

Response: Depends on the Vampire -- some "good", some "bad", but
containing similar qualities. Some have "Humanity" so have lost that piece
of themselves -- again, it is dependant upon the person who is the way
they are or makes themselves what they want to be. Some people are "sired",
or shown a way to that path, others are born into it or just make themselves
that. Some are Mortal, few are immortal. Some are just people who are
like psycho-electrical magnets, and some enjoy chasing people down the
street and beating them senseless before deriving some form of energy
from that person. Any one could be a Vampire and not know it, but as with
all things there are varying degrees of vampirism -- ranging from your
average wanna be junior high school wanker to the 3000 year old blood
drinker.

Response: I feel that vampires are more blessed than cursed, and
that they have a special empathy with those around them. It saddens me
to see how vamps are portrayed. Though they do not NEED to sustain themselves
on blood and plasma, why question nature?

Response: I think vampires are regular people. Who have a thirst
for blood, & have extra sensitive senses. Such as to lights, colds,
hots...Basically a lot of stuff. A vampire feels that they are alone,
& confused about what's going on in them, mental, & some times
physical. As a result of how they feel they seek to be appreciated by
joining groups, such as covens. I believe that as a vampire the people
are gifted with special qualities.

Response: I believe that vampires are outwardly rather normal,
except for several innate habits that would separate them from the "normal"
public. I believe in vampires being photosensitive but not to the point
that the movies have claimed, not near that point actually. I don't believe
being a vampire would be something one should aspire to be foolishly.
I believe in it being a different life-style and one that has both advantages
and disadvantages.

intellectually, as well as spiritually, inclined. They are viewed as evil
because society fears all unknown. I think vampires are the only sane individuals

Response: Distant beings, with no, or few links, constantly trying
to find a place where they can belong. Vampires are not happy, they are
drifters, romantics, vagabonds. They, sometimes, discuss themselves because
of their nature. The only way that a vampire can find peace is by accepting
himself, or else there is no hope. As for humans, there are good and evil
vampires, thoses who chose to be evil are usually less sad, or at least
they think they are. Vampires are passionate and unforgiven, because they
do not bond often, they are extrême in relationships. But then,
is there any other way?
