I went through the directory and deleted or updated dead links, moved pages, etc. There were quite a few and the directory's total link count went down. Quality over quantity. If you have a real vampire site, or if your favorite site isn't listed, please feel free to submit it. I'm still adding sites.
The spambots were submitting literally thousands upon thousands of spam/porm/crap/gibberish entries but I outsmarted them (for now). I also figured out a quick way to mass-delete all their entries without losing (too many) real submissions. Currently, I have about 55 bona fide sites in the queue, waiting to be validated. I'll get to those as I'm able.
How could I let a whole year go by without realizing it? Last year was a busy year. Anyway, the spambots found the RVD, and I'm weeding through 750+ submissions (mostly spam or gibberinsh) to find the real sites people have submitted. I'm down to under 500 now. Yay! Check out the new donor site, The Black Swan Haven -- A Site For Donors Ran By Donors -- It is a place where we hope donors can feel free to chat and learn about donating to vamps. We also hope it will help promote vamp/donor relationships. We want donors to come out into the open within the community.
I sorted through the directory and either deleted or updated a number of dead links. If you find a dead link, please report it using the "Dead Link" link under the listing.
I modified the directory to sort the new links first, then cool links, then the rest of the links alphabetically. Previously, it had been modified to sort the links randomly at each update to keep things fresh. However, I decided that this method made it harder to find a link when browsing (particularly since it changed everything each update) and gave the whole directory the air of being completely disorganized. Welcome to a new era of order and organization! :-)
