The Dictionary of Vampspeak, Second Edition: Terminology and Lingo in the Vampire Community, by Sanguinarius
Many new self-identified vampires are just discovering there’s a wide community both on and offline. They are unfamiliar with the common jargon, slang, doublespeak, plays on words, and more — “vampspeak” — used by many real vampires, and use inaccurate or inappropriate terms they have picked up from popular fiction, movies, etc.; or they use terms that only they, and maybe a small group of fellow vampires, have come up with. Unfortunately, this often makes them seem like posers, or ignorant. This lexicon is an excellent guide and intro to much of the terminology used by real vampires, and contains over 60 new terms not included in the first edition.
Newbies and old-timers alike can benefit from reading it; people researching vampires; the media could definitely benefit. The curious can read it for pleasure. It’s entertaining as well as informative.
“Sangi did a really good job on this. If you flip through it you’ll find a lot of stuff in here that you wouldn’t otherwise know. There’s a lot of things I picked up from this book that I didn’t know coming into [the community].” — Vampire Zilchy, creator of Vampire Q&A
“This book is a “MUST HAVE” for all those new to the vampire community, and a whimsical glimpse into some of the previous terminologies of our past, for those that have been in the vampire community long enough to remember.” — Lono F. Vespertilio, founder of psivamp.org and author of The Psychic Vampires Guide: To Subtle Body Language and Psionics, et. al.
