We are like the rest of you

And like it or not
We aren't mediaval folklore

You call us dead and you hunt us down
You make up stories and fantasy tales
And you love it
We're just a fad to you

I tell you it hurts
Way down deep inside
Where emotions come from
And where they go to hide
From people who love to hate us
Yet don't even believe we exist

To them we are only devils
In this cynical world
Where Good and Evil
Are but some romantic notions
Devil's spawn with a devil's stare
Devil's friend with a devil's thirst

How wrong you really are, cuz...

There are some who will accept us
Ah, how sweet those precious few
They realize
I am as you are
We are like the rest of you
We're not demons
And neither are we monsters

There are some people out there
Who would take the chance
And have our condition
Just to kill and kill and kill
They must be put down

It makes me sick
