Vampire Poll Responses, Page 8

Back in the days when Sanguinarius: The Vampire Support Page was located on AOL, I was able to run a short questionnaire from a modified guestbook script hosted by AOL. Once I moved the site off of AOL's servers, I no longer had the ability to run the response form off their script. I've not found anything suitable since then to use, so I'm not running the poll any longer or accepting new resonses; this may change someday if I find a suitable script to use.

The poll ran from 3 January, 1998 until 31 December, 2000. I have archived the responses the poll recieved in this section, and guests are still able view them.

Response: There are several different kinds of vampires. There are those who we think of immediately when we hear the word vampire. That is, those who physically are vampires, rely on the consumption of blood, etc. Then there are those who try to imitate these, via roleplaying, acting... pseudo-vampires, if you will. There are psychic vampires who feed off of the energy of others... these tend to have a bad reputation. Probably the reason being that few people believe in "real" vampires, and consider this the next worst thing. Then there's me. I have Multiple Personality Disorder, and some of my personalities are vampires. Response: Gods, what a question: I can only answer from experience. Negatives: * craving for blood in the day of AIDS * hearing and smelling are heightened (can be annoying -- next door neighbor's country music) * up/down mood swings * sensitive to sunlight * night person (more neutral) * having everyone think you're nuts for being into this stuff in your 30s. Postives: * the taste of blood * heightened senses * being more passionate about things than mundanes (not one of the sheep) * youthful appearance * night time living. Solution: live true to self and damn everyone else (if you can afford the price tags).

Response: Like mortals, but not quite. The craving for blood is strong, and difficult to keep in check. Mortal food turns their stomach. If given the chance, they will convince you to "donate" your blood, or just take it. On a personal note there are not many of my kind where I live, therefore I lack the companionship of other vampires. Mortals are OK friends but the temptation to lash out can be too great!

Personally I have met one other Vampyre and he was a friend of my mother's (also a vampyre), and the only reason I met him was so he could give me a letter she wrote me before her death so I never knew anything about him....but he didn't seem that different.
